Welcome to the official website of Andrew Small Hi Everyone, You can read an interview I did for the February 08 issue of ‘Drummer’ magazine Stuart Townend’s live DVD ‘There is a Hope’ is a new addition to the discography. In March I visited the Frankfurt Musikmesse in Germany to take perform in the first European version of Yamaha’s Groove All Stars, an event which normally takes place at the NAMM show in California. You can look at my special Groove All Stars Gallery for pictures and more info about the night here. My ‘Guest Drummer’ feature returns with 3 mini-interviews from guys who took part in the Yamaha Groove Night. Be sure to check them out. Later on in March I did a drum clinic in Harrogate for ABC Music shop. The drive up there was a bit of shock as for some reason I’d initially thought Harrogate was near Eastbourne…not further North than Leeds! During May, I wrote and recorded two songs for a Yamaha UK video to help promote the launch of their new DTXtreme3 Drum Trigger Module. The project was a lot of fun and you can view the results on the Something Useful page. In the same month I had the huge pleasure of playing in the house band for ‘The Global Day Of Prayer’ event at Millwall Football stadium in London. It was a brilliant day, a great band and orchestra and a whole host of renowned Christian artists taking part. The bass player (Jim Clarke) was a guy I’d met for the first time... absolutely fantastic player!! May also saw me visit Brighton Institute of Modern Music to perform a drum clinic which was eventful to say the least but ultimately enjoyable. A BIG, BIG, BIG Thank You to Brighton based drummer Tristan Banks for saving my life that night! This summer, I’m out on the road touring with Massive Attack.
